These terms apply to your use of artsinterstices.com, its tools, articles and embeddable widgets (together, “the site”), run by ArtsInterstices (“we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
Using the site
The site and its tools are free to use for personal and commercial work, with no account required. Please use them lawfully and don’t try to disrupt the site, overload it, probe it for vulnerabilities, or get around any technical limits. You may not use the site in a way that infringes anyone else’s rights.
Tools are provided as-is
We build and check the tools carefully, but we provide them “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, availability and non-infringement — to the fullest extent the law allows. We may change, improve or retire any tool or page at any time.
Calculators and generators give estimates. Print sizes, paint quantities, prices, fees, shipping dimensions, color conversions and similar results are only as good as the inputs and assumptions behind them. Paint brands, printers, platforms and tax rules vary. Before you rely on a result for anything that costs money or can’t be undone — a print run, a quote, a material order, a contract — verify it against the actual supplier, platform or professional involved.
Templates are not professional advice. Commission contracts, invoices, certificates of authenticity and similar documents generated by the site are starting points. They are not legal, tax or financial advice, and they may not meet the requirements of your country, state or situation. Have a qualified professional review any document that matters to you.
Color tools show colors on your screen, which may not match paint, print or another device exactly.
Your content stays yours
Images, text and other files you open in a tool are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to us, so we don’t receive them and claim no rights in them. You’re responsible for having the right to use any material you load into a tool — for example, a photo you didn’t take.
You can use what you make
Palettes, images, patterns, documents, text and other results you create with the tools are yours to use freely, including commercially, without credit to us. Some generators produce short pieces of text or combinations of words that other users could also get; we can’t give you exclusive rights in those, and you’re responsible for checking that a name or title you adopt doesn’t conflict with someone else’s trademark.
Embedding our tools
Some tools offer an Embed option. You’re welcome to place those tools on your own website, blog or course page using the embed code we provide, as long as you keep the code as given, including the attribution link to ArtsInterstices. Please don’t remove or hide the attribution, frame other parts of the site, or present an embedded tool as your own. We may change or discontinue embeds, and we may ask you to remove one if it’s used in a misleading or harmful context.
Our articles and design
The articles, guides, tool code, design and branding on the site belong to us or our licensors. You’re welcome to link to any page and to quote a short excerpt with a link back to the source. You may not copy or republish our articles in full or in substantial part, scrape the site in bulk, or redistribute its content or tools as part of another product or service without our written permission.
External links and third-party services
The site links to other websites and loads some resources, such as fonts, open-source libraries, painting images and ads, from third parties. We don’t control those services and aren’t responsible for their content, availability or practices. Their own terms and privacy policies apply. Our privacy policy explains what they receive.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, materials or business opportunities, arising from your use of the site or your reliance on any result, template or article — even if we were told such loss was possible. You use the site and its results at your own discretion and risk.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that can’t be excluded or limited under the law where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws that apply where ArtsInterstices is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your country of residence gives you mandatory protection that can’t be waived. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
